Lewis herself is a collage of teaching and designing experiences. She has taught children and adults at a variety of settings including, the Bellevue Art Museum, Cancer Lifeline and Pratt Fine Art Center. Her teaching style celebrates the belief that art is life enhancing and that every person is a creative being. She values the beauty of creating in a class setting where we are able to both connect to each other and explore ourselves. Her artwork reflects her background as both a graphic designer and textile designer. She earned a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Puget Sound and her teaching credentials from Pacific Oaks College.

Artist's StatementVisual Art is it's own language. The more we immerse ourselves in the visual world, the greater our ability is to express ourselves there. The Art of Collage is a welcoming and liberating avenue to the structure of visual language. The physical act of making a collage begins the process of composing; selecting, placing, rearranging, editing. The Collage Artist is immediately in dialogue with the elements of art, while building their 'vocabulary' with the principals of art. When I teach, the continued acquisition of visual language is promoted and celebrated.
